Description
1. Effects on the cardiovascular and cerebrovascular systems. Both single and multiple administrations of hawthorn leaf flavonoid polymers can counteract acute myocardial ischemia induced by pituitrin in rabbits.
2. Effects on the coagulation system. Hawthorn leaves significantly inhibit collagen or ADP-induced platelet aggregation in rabbits, both in vivo and in vitro. Additionally, 30 minutes after intravenous injection of hawthorn leaf preparations, whole blood viscosity significantly decreases.
3. Hypolipidemic effects. Hawthorn leaves exhibit a very significant reduction in cholesterol levels in mice with rapidly induced cholesterolemia from egg yolk emulsions.
4. Anti-hypoxic effects and diuretic effects.
